Jacob D. Robida
Jacob D. Robida (June 13, 1987 - February 5, 2006) was an American teenager who attacked four patrons of a New Bedford, Massachusetts gay bar on February 2, 2006. He later fled to Charleston, West Virginia and kidnapped Jennifer Rena Dunlap Bailey. They drove south until they were stopped in Gassville, Arkansas by police officer James W. Sell on February 4. He shot and killed Officer Sell and later shot at Police Sgt. Van Nowlin. He continued to drive until reaching Norfolk, Arkansas, followed by the police, where he lost control and crashed his car. He shot and killed Jennifer Bailey, his kidnap victim, before shooting himself in the head. He died on February 5, 2006 in a hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

On February 7, 2006, disbarred attorney Jack Thompson described the initial attack as a "killing scenario" from Postal² and the murder of Officer Sell as a "suicide by cop homicide" inspired by the Grand Theft Auto series. Postal² does not require the player to enter the bar while the GTA series has no suicide by cop scenario. Thompson claimed to have spoken to a New Bedford detective who "repeatedly" said that Robida's friends had said "he played the Grand Theft Auto games". The "suicide by cop" theory was dismissed due to Robida shooting himself and the Bristol County District Attorney later confirmed that there were no video games at Robida's house.
