I think you'll find it was actually the equals sign (=) that was causing it to break. This is because of the way templates (like infoboxes) work. You put <code><nowiki>{{templatename | parameter=value | parameter=value}}</nowiki></code>. If you don't specify any parameters (no equals signs) the first parameter is just called "1", which is what the info template is expecting. But what you actually did is have a parameter called "This article was proposed for deletion..." etc, up until the equals sign. When I blocked [[User:Chip2009]] a while back (multiple accounts with [[User:Chip2007]] and [[User:Chip2008]]), and contacted Wikia staff to enforce the Wikia-wide block (like you said to), they said that they didn't care as long as he didn't claim himself as Wikia staff again.
