::About your example with the brands and cars that are in GTA III and IV eras, I would like to say that it goes the same with Liberty City, Vice City etc. However, the details about those, change between eras. The design of the cars for instance. Look at [[Vehicles in GTA V]]: several vehicles are the exact same than in GTA IV.
