			:If I may drop in here and answer part of your question - when you re-upload a new version, it ''does'' change straight away (unless there's a problem I don't know about). It's only your own browser that caches (remembers) the old version of the file and its thumbnails. I can confirm the image you mention above HAS changed to reflect your replacement, but the thumbnail hasn't yet (I'll check that). Best thing to do is do a hard refresh (Ctrl+F5) or clear your cache. Or if you just want to check whether it's gone through, try using a different web browser or enabling private/incognito mode, which will show you what everyone else sees without using your cache. As for unused pictures, just add the {{template\|delete}} template to the File's page and an admin can delete it.
