-Vertical Bird is a mission in [[Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas]] given by [[Mike Toreno]] where [[CJ]] is required to steal a [[Hydra]] from the [[Easter Basin Naval Station]] and destroy some boats. If not on this mission, entering the naval base will give you an instant 5 star [[wanted level]], but on this mission you don't get it. The only security in the base is only 10 - 30  guards with [[M4 Carbine|M4 Carbines]], and a number of unarmed workers accompanying them (they usually trigger the alarm when CJ has been spotted). After you steal the jet and take off, there are 4 other Hydra's which follow you (NOTE: you can blow up the other hydras to prevent them from following you, though at least 1 Hydra will follow even if you blow them all up) and threaten to shoot at you, but they don't, they just follow you and you've got to destroy them. Then there are the 4 unarmed spyboats which you have to destroy. Then you have to land the plane at the [[Verdant Meadows|Verdant Meadows Aircraft Graveyard]] and put it in a hangar.

+CJ drops by [[Madd Dogg's Crib]], his "new" home and listens to [[Madd Dogg]] while he's rapping after having recovered from the [[Madd Dogg (mission)|suicide attempt]]. All of sudden all the audio is cut off and [[Mike Toreno]]'s voice is heard who tells CJ to come out of the mansion. CJ gets out and finds Toreno, who has one more job needing to be done. Toreno says if CJ does this job, his brother [[Sweet]] will be released from prison. CJ agrees and hops on a speedboat docked on the water with a [[Knife]] and a [[Silenced 9mm]] in it. He heads over to the [[Easter Basin Naval Station]] in [[San Fierro]] where Toreno instructs him to sneak inside without being seen and that he can't help anymore. CJ gets off the boat and swims into the base while sneaking up inside, he kills a soldier armed with a [[M4]] however, the alarm goes off and that forces him to rush his way. CJ then kills all the soldiers on his way and disables the [[Surface-to-Air Missile|S.A.M.]] sites. He later on goes and steals a [[Hydra]] plane and escapes the base while avoiding the soldiers who guard the place. Toreno happily tells CJ via the earpiece, that he has to head over to [[Tierra Robada]] and destroy five spyships with the Hydra's missiles, another plane starts to follow CJ on the air however after an "air-chase" the other plane crashes into something and is destroyed, CJ with the help of the Hydra's missiles destroys all the boats and then lands the plane inside a hangar at the [[Verdant Meadows]] airbase.
