Template talk:Cheats
From my experience, only the peds riot cheats messes up the GTA3 era games, plus the spawn Rhino cheat in GTA3. All other cheats seemed safe to use. Should the template be edited to make cheating feel less threatening?--spaceeinstein 07:35, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
- They may be the cheats that cause the problems that are most obviously cheat related, but alot of the problems caused by cheats aren't so obvious. Cheats can cause unwanted affects on gameplay, such as glitches. Besides, it says that using cheats MAY cause problems. Most cheats make it impossible to achieve 100% completion of a game, and it is your health/weapon cheats that will most likely do this (as opposed to a "fun" cheat). Also, in GTA IV, cheats block achievements. This template isn't too threatening at all! Biggest GTA Fan EverTalk 07:52, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
- Meh, late reply. Most cheats do not prevent completion of 100%. The only cheat that is known to do that is the peds riot cheat. There have been so much assumptions on the Internet that using cheats that are programmed into the game prevent the completion of the game. Those that assume did not prove how or why. I have been fiddling with the games for such a long time and I can tell you that what I said in the first post are the ones causing the game to go nuts. I request that the description of this template to be changed to:
- "Be warned that using Cheats may cause unintended side effects."
- To be less threatening.--Spaceeinstein 02:25, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
