Redirect

Why was wowwiki allowed to create a redirect from their old wikia page and gta wiki cannot? is it because the admins were banned and wikia hates us? Ezanrki 19:38, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

http://www.wowwiki.com is the original Wikia-run site. There are no links or redirects to http://www.wowpedia.org, which is where the community moved to. So they're being treated the same as us. Feel free to add links to grandtheftwiki.com anywhere you like - including Wikia! Gboyers 19:45, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

gta.wikia still there and active

Yep, nothing we can do about that. Wikia kept the "gta.wikia.com" domain, and they wont let us put any links or redirects to this new site. They are continuing to run their copy as if we never left. That site is still top of all the search engines, because of the work we did, and Wikia is taking all the credit for it. That site gets a lot more visits than this one, but more people edit this one, and the quality is a LOT higher. As you can imagine, we are not happy with Wikia at all. The best way you can help is to link to GTW from loads of other websites (especially Wikia and other GTA sites). Otherwise, it's going to be a long battle. Gboyers 00:15, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
