Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend is the final mission for the McReary Family, particularly Packie and Gerry. In this mission, Niko Bellic and Packie McReary visit a deal on Charge Island where they attempt to exchange a gagged Gracie Ancelotti for some diamonds that Ray used to have.

Overview

Niko and Packie offer to give the Ancelottis back their daughter, Gracie in exchange for some diamonds that Ray Boccino used to have. The deal is botched, and Rodislav Bulgarin's men steal both the diamonds and the girl. The men working for Bulgarin get rid of the diamonds. In retaliation, Niko and Packie kill the goons responsible then go home.

Walkthrough

Head over to the safehouse in Northwood, Algonquin. Packie and Gracie are waiting for you in the car. Hop in and drive to Charge Island.

Drive into the yellow marker at the exchange point, which is an abandoned oil factory. A cutscene shows the deal. The deal becomes botched when Rodislav Bulgarin steals the diamonds and Gracie Ancelotti, so basically Packie and Niko lose everything.

Gain cover and shoot Bulgarin's men. There are about a dozen, so take your time. Use a grenade only when Packie is far from the detonation point. Once the nearby men have been wiped out, get closer and ambush the remaining ones. Follow Packie to the hallways above ground. There will be a lot of men on the aboveground hallways so use the pipes as cover.

Packie and Niko will split up with Niko taking the low "road" and Packie taking the high "road." The view will focus on three cars that skid on the ground nearby. Take a rocket launcher or a few grenades and blow up the three cars before the men can seperate and cause a big problem.

Meet back up with Packie and corner the two men with the diamonds. Watch as the men drop the diamonds into a garbage truck below. Packie says multiple swear words to the men and then gets out his gun. Help Packie kill the men then slide down the ladder. Drive Packie to his Mom's house in Meadows Park, Dukes. On the way, Packie will try to figure out what happened at the deal.

-Go to the second safehouse and to find [[Packie]] and a gagged [[Gracie Ancelotti]].  This time there is no horde of angry family in pursuit.  The only extra fail condition is to kill anyone in the car.  The destination is at [[Charge Island]], the small and unimportant island between [[Algonquin]] and [[Broker]].  Now things get tricky.  The diamonds from Ray's [[Taking in the Trash]] are supposed to be exchanged for Gracie but [[Rodislav Bulgarin]] crops up and tries to steal the diamonds himself.  He brings a small army with him.  Use cover and pick his men off one by one.  There are about 50 of them. This mission is considerably easier with either assault rifle or the SMG.  Keep either one and in lock-on mode when walking.  [[Packie]] will help too but don't rely on him.  If a [[Rocket Launcher]] is availible, it may be worth considering but use it sparingly and only for tight groups of enemies or vehicles.  [[Grenade]]s are worth their weight in gold against enemies who are blind firing.  After the last thug drops, more open fire from the catwalk above.  Once they are delt with [[Niko]] will encounter one more holding the diamonds.  Unfortunatly he drops them into a passing dump truck so no one can have them.  [[Packie]] kills the man.  Bulgarin sends in a few more goons but nothing serious.  To wrap up the mission, drive Packie back to his house.  After this mission is completed and 3 game days have passed, [[Gracie Ancelotti]] is added as a random character and sadly she doesn't have any kind of memory loss...
