Next to every new edit it says something like: (+100) or (-50). What dos that mean and where is it recorded?

That's how many characters have been added (or subtracted) from the article's total. It's useful for determining, at a glance, how substantial an edit is. --MattyDienhoff 05:19, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
