Max Paint (or Max Paynt as seen in the game) is the GTA 2 equivalent of Pay n Spray in all the other games. This is a clear reference to Max Payne the movie which was released two years after GTA 2. The only one major difference about the shop is that the police can see you go into the shop and if you successfully change the color of your vehicle, the police will stop chasing you immediately with no prohibitionary period. Public service vehicles and gang cars cannot be resprayed although buses are exempted from this rule (not the [[Karma Bus]]). Also taxi's can't be resprayed they but can have the plates changed.

Max Paynt is the Grand Theft Auto 2 equivalent of Pay'n'Spray in all the other games. This is a clear reference to the Max Payne video game series, also made by Rockstar games - although the game was not released until 2001. The garage funtions almost identically to the Pay'n'Spray garages in Grand Theft Auto 1 and the GTA III Era games - the only difference is that the player immeditaely loses their wanted level. Like in all games, government/law enforcement vehicles (and gang cars) cannot be resprayed, although buses are exempt from this rule. Taxis are not resprayed, instead, they have the plates changed.
