Leftwood is a multi-cultural small area in Northern Alderney in Grand Theft Auto IV. Leftwood is based on Bergen County, New Jersey. It acts as a transition district between the suburbia of Westdyke to the north, and the more concentrated, urban centre: Alderney City to the south. For that reason, Leftwood has mixed land uses. Towards the south of the district, there are more services and denser land use, whilst further north, Leftwood becomes a quieter and more residential locale. Despite its name, Westdyke Memorial Hospital is actually located in western Leftwood. Leftwood police station is also located in eastern Leftwood. The town has some regular sized houses along Flathead Rd, and it's Westdyke border. But towards it's center on Franklin Street, three to five story apartment and retail buildings stand next to eachother. The city from Applewhite Street along the West River, at the very eastern end of the city, that only intersects Franklin, in which traveling north takes you off the asphalt onto the West River shore. Traveling on Manzano Road takes you across a number of retail shops, like Gozushi in the west, and down the road many nail salons and clothing shops (inaccessable to enter) can be seen, where Ironically many say 'Westdyke' on it, like 'Westdyke Nails'.
Leftwood is a thirteen-block neighborhood in Alderney. It is located in North Alderney, bordered by Flathead Rd in the North (Westdyke), the West River in the East (North Holland in Algonquin, Liberty City), and Panhandle Rd in the south (Alderney City).

The city is populated by primarily a mix of mostly Portuguese and some Italians. The town hall on Franklin, which overlooks Catskill has a bilingual banner marking that it's the community center in English and Portuguese, and even has a Portuguese flag. A set of apartment buildings across the street from the town hall have Portuguese retail on their ground floors, with Portuguese flags, and another identical building is on the southern end of Sacramento Avenue, while down the street from town hall on Franklin, another banner hangs over the street that says 'Get Stuffed!' with an Italian flag.
