Talk:Liberty City Community College

References

Could the references be reformatted, say just as an external links section. They make it really confusing to edit. I mean, on Wikipedia you have to get used to it. But GTW users aren't used to it. Biggest GTA Fan EverTalk 10:38, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

I don't mind the references being done sort of the way they are here, but they seem to be overly complicated. For example, right now the first ref is
.
Is there a reason that it's not just
?
What is the meaning of the parameters in this template? I can't find anything explaining it. --GuildKnightTalk2me 01:31, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
References can be done a number of ways. For a start, there are far too many in this article. If you really need to prove something (such as something which has been argued over, or is controversial, or is difficult to prove, or factual statistics like sales figures), then an link in the "external links" section is usually enough. If it needs to be tied to a specific point, simply putting a link in the text is usually the best way of doing it. If you really need to list them at the bottom and tie them to stuff in the text, then you can use GK's second example there - but that should only be used in extreme circumstances. Cite web does the same job, but is just a bit more formal and gives you a list of certain things to define - it's basically a helper template for the 2nd one. My advice is keep it simple. If you really need to prove something extensively, you could just make a section for it on the talk page, so people can refer to that in any cases of debate. Gboyers talk 04:19, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
