A Car Bomb is an explosive device placed in a car to be detonated.
Types
There are three types of car bombs.
- Engine ignition detonation
The player has to arm the bomb while in a car. When anyone enters the car, the bomb will immediately detonate.
- Remote detonation
The bomb is remotely detonated using a Detonator.
- Five-second time delay detonation
The player has the arm the bomb and wait five seconds for the bomb to detonate.

8-Ball Autos
Liberty City
- Harwood, Portland Island - Engine ignition detonation
- Newport, Staunton Island - Five-second time delay detonation
- Pike Creek, Shoreside Vale - Remote detonation
Vice City
- Viceport, Vice City (GTA Vice City) - Remote detonation
- Downtown, Vice City (GTA Vice City Stories) - Remote detonation
San Andreas
- El Corona, Los Santos, San Andreas - Five-second time delay detonation
GTA IV
Car bombs in GTA:IV may be obtained through Patrick McReary as a friend special option. They will be left in the player's general location, and are remote detonated. They can be attached to any vehicle once in the player's possession.
