Pike Creek

Pike Creek is a commercial and industrial district located in the western part of Shoreside Vale, Liberty City in Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto Advance and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories.

Description

Pike Creek is based in the industrial areas of Elizabeth, New Jersey. Located here are a hospital, police station and a Pay 'n' Spray. Other services include 8-Ball's Bomb Shop and a flophouse of which media tycoon Donald Love becomes a temporary resident in GTA Liberty City Stories after losing everything when he was exposed to be working with Toni Cipriani, a Leone Family member. Cipriani later helped Love kill his former boss and mentor Avery Carrington and escape Liberty City and the Colombian Cartel, who would later take over Shoreside Vale from the Yakuza. Pike Creek is also the location of the Shoreside Vale Import/Export garage, which is located on the northeastern edge of the district.

The building models of the police station and hospital are reused in the games' Portland counterparts (the LCPD police station and Sweeney General Hospital in Portland View). However, the Hope Medical College building is significantly extended in height than Sweeney General Hospital.

Glitches

A road in the south-east part of Pike Creek borders over Wichita Gardens, and is erroneously named as such. This can make missions such as Firefighter and Paramedic difficult or impossible in some circumstances as the game thinks the two suburbs are physically located next to each other, and gives you a very short time span such as 30 seconds or 1 minute to get from one place to the other. Since there are only two roads (not counting a ramp) to the lower section, you may have to cancel a mission or simply fail it as there isn't enough time to drive down to Wichita Gardens.
