The Savanna is one of the many vehicles that make lone appearances in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. It is a four-door lowrider. Due to the fact that it is a lowrider, and it has four doors, it makes this car suitable for gang drive-bys, and entering the lowrider competion with hydraulics equipped, however it doesn't always spawn with hydraulics. It has wide handling that doesn't make it ideal for racing. Cesar Vialpando's car is a red Savanna with red seats and no hydraulics, except for one instance in the mission Photo Opportunity in which you have to drive Cesar to Angel Pine to get photographs of the Loco Syndicate. The Savanna also serves as a gang car for the Grove Street Families.

It resembles a 1963 Chevrolet Impala except the top of the grille has been altered to make it reminiscent of a 1964 Impala (and a similar design of the front bumper is mirrored with the back bumper). In beta screenshots, however, the grille isn't altered and it almost completely resembles a 1963 Impala. The back has a pair of two taillights similar to Chevy Bel Air and Biscayne models instead of an Impala, probably to avoid legal disputes. The name may come from impala, because the animal is commonly found in savannas.

The Savanna is a four-door open top lowrider in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Description

Design

Side view of two Savannas modified at Loco Low Co. to feature two forms of tops: "Hardttop" (above) and "sofftop" (below).

The Savanna is based on a 1963 Chevrolet Impala with the top portion of the grille altered to resemble that of the 1964 Impala (in early screenshots, however, the grille is not altered, completely resembling the '63's), with the back sporting a pair of double taillights similar to those on the Chevy Bel Air and Biscayne. The name "Savanna" is likely a reference to the Impala, as the animal of that name is found on the savannas. While normally appearing with only an open top, the car can be modified in Loco Low Co. to feature a hard top or a soft convertible top.

Being a lowrider, the Savanna can be used in the lowrider competion if hydraulics are equipped (Savanna's do not always spawn with hydraulics). It is also a four-door car, making it rather suitable for drive-bys and transporting gang members. Like the Hermes, it cannot be blown up with a fuel cap shot, as it does not have a visible fuel cap (not even shooting the license plate works).

The Grove Street Families use the Savanna as one of their gang cars.

Performance

The Savanna's main merit is its speed, with good acceleration to complement this. However, cornering is poor due to the car being heavy and bulky. Like the Blade, the car's brakes are very sensitive, giving it very responsive stopping power at any speed; this, however, risks a spin-out if the driver steers while braking (for instance, in a handbrake turn).

Customization

As mentioned, the Savanna can be modified at a Loco Low Co., which offers a myriad of customizations for the car, including the aforementioned hardtop and softtop add-ons:

• Paint Jobs
• Paintjob 1: $500
• Paintjob 2: $500
• Paintjob 3: $500
• Colors
• Car Color 1 (primary body color): $150
• Car Color 2 (interior color): $150
• Roof
• Hardtop: $3,380
• Softtop: $3,290
• Front Bumper
• Chromer Bumper: $2,200
• Slamin Bumper: $2,080
• Rear Bumper
• Chromer Bumper: $2,095
• Slamin Bumper: $2,175
• Exhausts
• Chromer Exhaust: $1,650
• Slamin Exhaust: $1,590

• Side Skirts
• Chrome Strip: $830
• Wheels
• Classic: $1,620
• Dollar: $1,560
• Twist: $1,200
• Wires: $1,560
• Trance: $1,350
• Cutter: $1,030
• Rimshine: $980
• Virtual: $620
• Access: $1,140
• Car Stereo
• Bass Boost: $100
• Hydraulics: $1,500
• Nitro
• 2x Nitrous: $200
• 5x Nitrous: $500
• 10x Nitrous: $1,000

Possible combinations of modifications that can be given to Savannas at Loco Low Co. in GTA San Andreas.
