Events concerning the Grand Theft Auto series in 2009
Real World
- The Lost and Damned is released.
- Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is released.
- The Ballad of Gay Tony is released.
- Episodes from Liberty City is released.
- Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is announced and released for the PSP.
Game World
- Events of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars takes place. (Non-canon)
- Huang Lee arrives to Liberty City with the Yu Jian.
- Huang Lee and Detective Wade Heston form an alliance.
- Rudy D'Avanzo is killed.
- Wu Lee is appointed head of the Triads when Hsin Jaoming stands down.
