Rudy D'Avanzo is character in Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars. He is a 55 year-old mafia gang member who aids Huang Lee in identifying the 'rat'. In realizing Huang's capabilities, he takes advantage of Huang's desperation to find the traitor, to deal with 'trouble' with Jimmy Capra. He is assassinated by Huang when he finds out he has been lied to about the rat's identity.
It is revealed in the mission A Rude Awakening that Rudy is a cross-dresser. He grows angry when Huang stares at him, claiming that he gave him the same judgmental look as his father. Rudy flees the building with Huang in hot pursuit. Huang eventually tracks him down and kills him.
According to the Liberty City Police Database in Grand Theft Auto IV, Rudy developed a hatred towards the Algonquin Triads after his father was killed in a fish factory explosion - suspected to have been caused by the Triads. He is also seen loitering around the back of lingerie boutiques, possibly to satisfy his fetish for lady's undergarments and cross-dressing.
It is unclear which Mafia family D'Avanzo is affiliated with as it is never stated in the game, although he is said to have a long running feud with the Messina Family suggesting that he may be a member of the Ancelotti Family since they are seen to have trouble with the Messinas in The Ballad of Gay Tony.
He has an extensive criminal record having been arrested a total of eight times. In 1972 he was arrested for pandering, in 1976 and 1983 for grand theft auto, 1993 for racketeering and manslaughter, 2001 for hijacking and arson and for fraud in 2003.
