Cop (outfit)

The Cop Uniform is an outfit in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City that is acquired by Tommy Vercetti during the mission Cop Land. The outfit can be located inside the Washington Beach police station. Other police uniforms appear throughout the series but are only worn by police officers and not the protagonist.

Role in GTA Vice City

Tommy Vercetti and Lance Vance acquire two cop uniforms by trapping two VCPD police officers inside a garage and stealing their clothes. The two then enter the Tarbrush Café inside the North Point Mall to detonate the bomb placed there by Mike as the café had failed to pay their protection money. The two enter the café and detonate the bomb before escaping back to Vercetti's mansion. Vercetti later uses the cop uniform to help Cam Jones escape from the police station in Washington Beach to help in a planned bank robbery.

Wearing the Cop Uniform allows the player to freely enter Fort Baxter Air Base and the police station in Washington Beach. The player can also steal military vehicles from within the Fort Baxter Air Base.
The Cop Uniform, however, does not offer immunity from the police or military who will try to arrest/kill Vercetti.
The player can also get rid of a one or two star wanted level by changing into the outfit inside the police station in Washington Beach even if the player is already wearing the uniform.
