Iraq, officially the Republic of Iraq, is a country is a country in western Asia with borders to Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Syria and Turkey. The republic, taking over from a monarchy, was declared on July 14, 1958 with a new constitution being introduced on October 15, 2005 following the fall of Saddam Hussein following the Iraq war. The capital of Iraq is Baghdad.
