Vinyl Countdown is a music store located in both Vice City (in 1984 and 1986) and Los Santos (in 1992), and appears in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. The name of the store is a reference to Europe's most famous song, The Final Countdown.
Description
In GTA Vice City, the store, which is found at the North Point Mall and has an accessible interior, is one of fifteen stores that must be robbed for 100% completion, whilst the same store in GTA Vice City Stories is where Smiley #9 can be found although it has no other purpose. The name is a reference to the hit single "The Final Countdown" by Swedish rock band Europe - the song was released the same year GTA Vice City was set in.
In GTA San Andreas, there is a small billboard of both Love Fist and a singer named Dandeel (who bears an uncanny resemblance to Lance Vance, including their outfit).
Trivia
- In the Vinyl Countdown store in the North Point Mall in GTA Vice City, the player can find a Love Fist banner advertising Love Fist's newest album The Number of the Breast.
