The Meat Business is a mission in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas given to protagonist Carl Johnsonby Ken Rosenberg in Caligula's Casino, The Strip Las Venturas.

Mission

Ken Rosenberg has relapsed and is high on cocaine when Carl enters. The drug gives Ken a confidence boost and he decides to venture outside the office and show the city who's boss. Ken decides to go to visit the Sindacco Family at their Abattoir to visit Johnny Sindacco who is recuperating there after being discharged earlier.

When they arrive at the Abattoir Carl tries to stay behind, knowing that if Johnny recognises him there will be trouble. However, Ken begs Carl to come with him, his confidence faltering. Unfortunately, Johnny suffers another heart attack when Carl steps out of the shadows during the meeting and dies. Carl and Ken have to fight their way out of the Abattoir, making sure there are no witnesses left alive before driving back to Caligula's Casino.

Shortly after completing this mission Carl recieves a call from Rosenberg. With the Sindacco's virtually wiped out from Las Venturas, Salvatore Leone has flown in to take over Caligula's Casino completely this situation worries Rosenberg as he knows if one family owns all of Caligula's his death will be guaranteed. Carl promises to help him and the mission Freefall becomes available.

Script

Ken Rosenberg: Oh, ha ha ha ha! Baby, I'm back, I AM BACK! Let's get this show on the road!

Kent Paul: The good Doctor has revived the patient! Sweet as, my son, sweet as!

Carl Johnson: So everything's straight now?

Ken Rosenberg: No! Absolutely not! I'm still screwed! Absolutely screwed, but at least now I'm in the right frame of mind. What the fuck are we going to do? Any minute now, some Mafia bullet is going to splatter my brains all over the wall! My wall, my beautiful wall...

Maccer: Ooh, you missed a bit. I'll have that.

Tony: Forgeddaboudit.

Ken Rosenberg: Oh, that's a great idea, Tony, but you know what? It ain't going to work, OK? Not this time... (mumbles)

Carl Johnson: Look, man, relax, get a grip...

Ken Rosenberg: Yeah, you're right, I need to get a grip!

Carl Johnson: Take control...

Ken Rosenberg: Yes, grab the bull by the horns!

Carl Johnson: And show everybody who's boss...

Ken Rosenberg: I'm the boss! I-am-the-boss!

Carl Johnson: Alright then!

Ken Rosenberg: All right! Let's tear this town up!

Carl Johnson: That's what I'm sayin'! So, where we going?

Ken Rosenberg: Details, details! Let's just get there!

Kent Paul: Rack them up, Maccer. What's the matter with you?

(Carl and Ken enter the Abattoir, Carl hangs beck)

Ken Rosenberg: What's going on? You forget something?

Carl Johnson: No - look, you go on in, I'm gonna wait.

Ken Rosenberg: Look, you gotta come with me this once. If I pull this off, I can carry on, I know I can, but please, you gotta come with me - I'm gonna squirt my ass all over the floor! Just this once please- please-please-please...

Carl Johnson: OK, OK - chill! Shit, this can't look good. Listen, everything's gonna be OK. Just remember; you're the boss!

Ken Rosenberg: I'm the boss? I'm the boss. I'm the boss. I'm the boss! I am the boss!

(Carl and Ken arrive at the room where Johnny is resting)

Ken Rosenberg: Hey, boys. Tell your boss that Ken Rosenberg is here to see him.

Doorman 1: Ken who?

Ken Rosenberg: K-Ken Rosenberg... Ken Rosenberg! The guy that runs this town!

(Doorman 1 goes into Johnny's room)

Ken Rosenberg: So, uh, how's Johnny?

Doorman 2: He's doing much better, yeah. He ate something this morning.

(Johnny comes out of his room in a wheelchair)

Johnny Sindacco: Heeyyy, Ken... Ah, Christ, this fucking thing... Ken... Como esta e, eh, how you doing?

Ken Rosenberg: Pretty good. And you?

Johnny Sindacco: Ah, still got a little bit of the night terrors, touch of diarrhoea, but I'll get through it.

Ken Rosenberg: Huh, diarrhoea, cool! Yeah...

Johnny Sindacco: And who's this...?

(Carl, who has been standing in shadow, steps forward)

Carl Johnson: How you doing, Johnny?

Johnny Sindacco: It's fucking him... It's him! Oh my God... Oh God... It's him... Aaargghh! My heart! Euchh... my heart...

(Johnny falls to the floor, wheezing and clutching his chest)

Carl Johnson: Damn, that nigga's fucked up!

(Carl and Ken fight their way out of the Abattoir, then drive back to Caligula's Palace)

Carl Johnson: Get in there, and be cool. Like you been out for a relaxing drive or something.

Ken Rosenberg: Calm, yeah, calm. I'm calm. REAL FUCKING calm! I'm calm, Mr. Calm, Mr. Calm, that's me, Mr. Calm.

Walkthrough

Walk into the yellow marker to enter the abattoir. A cutscene begins, and Carl doesn't want to go any further for the obvious fact that Johnny will recognize him as the guy who put him in this poor condition (Carl did this in the mission Fender Ketchup). Rosie insists that Carl come along. Johnny comes out of his office in a wheelchair and greets Ken, but as soon as he sees Carl, he clutches his heart and falls to the ground. The Sindacco's launch a full attack. One mobster throws a molotov cocktail, which creates a fiery barrier between two areas of the abattoir. Another mobster carrying a chainsaw walks towards CJ.

Kill the mobster, and any other attackers while Ken looks for a fire extinguisher. Rosie's health bar appears on-screen. Protect him and kill all of the witnesses in the abattoir. The mobsters are shown on the radar as red blips and these blips point in the direction that the mobster is facing.

Rosie will run into the freezer after extinguishing the fire. If the mobsters are close enough to the freezer, one of them will try to run toward the switch to close the freezer door, locking Rosie in, including you if you entered it. You can reopen the door if you are outside it. If you are locked inside you will fail the mission.

There are various health and armor icons scattered across the abattoir. There's a health icon back in Sindacco's office, so get it if you need it. Go through the stock house to find the exit, and again, watch out for any attackers. A few mobsters are standing on top of the boxes, and will shoot from above. Walk into the yellow marker to leave the abattoir, and get Rosie back to Caligula's. Mission is then passed.

Trivia

• As they escape the abattoir, Ken will occasionally utter comments to Carl under the illusion he is escaping alongside Tommy Vercetti, his former partner. Ken may mention Tommy's first name instead of Carl's, leading to Carl asking Ken who Tommy is.
