DUDE
DUDE is a corporation in the Grand Theft Auto series known to specialized in power tools, heavy machinery and chemicals. The DUDE brand has surfaced in multiple GTA games, including Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Grand Theft Auto IV.
Description
The DUDE name first appeared, albeit in beta form, on a nailgun originally to be used as a weapon in GTA Vice City, but dropped during development. In GTA San Andreas, the DUDE name appears primarily on heavy machinery, including cranes, and controllable cement trucks and earth moving vehicles. And in GTA IV, an abandoned DUDE Chemicals plant can be found at the Acter Industrial Park in Alderney.
DUDE may be a spoof of construction companies such as Caterpillar, and the name may be a parody of MAN. The current DUDE logo, which consists of a man lifting the word "DUDE" with some difficulty, first appeared in GTA San Andreas, and remained in use in GTA IV.
