Maibatsu Corporation
The Maibatsu Corporation is a fictional Japanese automaker in the GTA series. The name "Maibatsu" is derived from Daihatsu and Mitsubishi, and also similar in name as "Zaibatsu", a Japanese term for a large conglomerate, and the Zaibatsu Corporation.
In the Vice City Inquirer (GTA Vice City Stories), the Buy American Coalition asks to "take a mallet to a Maibatsu today". In GTA San Andreas, Maibatsu takes out an add on the radio encouraging parents to buy their kids cars instead of bicycles. The corporation is based on Mitsubishi in GTA IV.
In Grand Theft Auto: Vice City on the talk radio station VCPR. Jonathan Freeloader mentions Enviromental Week which is sponsored by Maibatsu and the Vice City Power Corperation. This is an inside joke as these two companies produce a lot of pollution.
