Tanner is a character in the 3D Universe who appears as a minor character in Grand Theft Auto III (set in 2001). He is an undercover police officer with the Liberty City Police Department. He is not voiced during his appearance.
Character history
Tanner was born and raised in the United States of America and, at some point, joined the Liberty City Police Department, later becoming an undercover officer. He is, at some time prior to 2001, tasked with following Yakuza co-leader Asuka Kasen and becomes her chauffeur. Asuka later discovers this and hires Claude to kill him on the streets of Staunton Island.
Trivia
- His name is a reference to the Driver protagonist Tanner, who is also referenced in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
- Tanner runs like a female pedestrian, a reference to the criticism that the Driver protagonist walks like a girl.
