Jerkov is a character in the 2D Universe who appears as a main character in Grand Theft Auto 2.

Character history

Jerkov was born on February 29, 1972 in Siberia in the Soviet Union. He joined the Russian military but was kicked out in 1989. By 1994 he had moved to the United States and was linked to a number of deaths in America's criminal underworld. He disappeared shortly afterwards but was spotted again in 1996 in a knife attack. A year later, he was arrested and tried for possessing heroin, which he had become addicted to, but was acquitted when the evidence was lost. The Anywhere City Police Department also suspect him of disembowelling a rival gang member. At some point, presumably while in America, he married Serbian refugee Sandra Tito with whom he has a son.

By 1999, he had become the leader of the Russian Mafia based in Anywhere City and had begun stealing vehicles and weapons to send back to Russia. Jerkov employs Claude Speed to help him gain full control of the Industrial District of the city from The Zaibatsu Corporation and the Hare Krishna. Claude, however, later begins working for both rival gangs and stops a group of Russian assassin from killing Krishna leader Sunbeam. An enraged Jerkov, knowing that Claude had also worked for Sunbeam and Uno Carbine of The Zaibatsu Corporation, attempts to kill Claude at the same time as Sunbeam and Carbine. Claude, however, kills all three gang leaders.
