The Hoods Rumpo XL is a souped up variant of the Rumpo which can be found in Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories. In Grand Theft Auto Advance, it is simply referred to as the Hoods.

Description

The Hoods Rumpo XL is primarily distinguishable from a regular Rumpo by its paint job. In GTA III, the van's body features a total of three color tones (dull green, blue and red), and also features graffiti on both sides, while the GTA Liberty City Stories renditions features only the green and blue of its GTA III rendition, as well as the aforementioned graffiti. It is also interesting to note that the GTA III Hoods Rumpo XL is larger than the standard Rumpo in GTA III; in GTA Liberty City Stories, however, they are the same size.

In GTA Advance, the Hoods, which is also based on the game's Rumpo, differs with its green or dark gray body color and grooves on the roof that run from the front to the back, as opposed to the Rumpo's grooves that cut across the van from its sides.

The Hoods Rumpo XL in GTA III and GTA Liberty City Stories handles neutrally and once it picks up speed, the van can go fairly fast. The acceleration is faster than the normal Rumpo, but strangely it is slower at top speed. It is also all wheel drive and can easily drive up steep hills like the one near the Shoreside Vale hideout in GTA III.

The van is a gang car for the Southside Hoods.

Trivia

  • The default radio station for Hoods Rumpo XL is MSX FM or Game Radio.
  • The side of the van reads "Hoods" in Liberty City Stories, while in GTA III it reads "Rebel".

Locations

The Hoods Rumpo XL is driven by the Southside Hoods and, as a result, can only be found in Wichita Gardens, Shoreside Vale (except for in GTA Advance, where, like other gang cars, it can be found all over the city).
