A Contender in GTA IV.

The Contender is a modern pickup truck in Grand Theft Auto IV and is manufactured by Vapid.

Description

The Contender is based on the eleventh generation 2004-2008 Ford F-150 extended cab. The grille and headlights are inspired by the 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche. The truck has a Supercharged 5.7L V8 engine, which is similar to the Ford SVT Lightning but with a larger displacement V8 (the Lightning had a 5.4L V8).

Despite having a Supercharged engine, it's acceleration and top speed are unimpressive, and can be equally matched by the Bobcat but the top speed is higher. The Contender comes with a variety of bed modifications, including one that makes it look more like a Chevy Avalanche. There is a rare "rally" version of the Contender that comes with a grille guard, a roll bar and roof lights. In GTA IV, after collecting all thirty cars for Stevie he agrees to purchase cars from Niko Bellic, with the Contender fetching $2,500.

Variants

A green "Supercharge" Contender is driven by the McReary Mob that can be found in Steinway. It has huge silver bull bars, four vapid lights on top and adorns a special green color.
