The Burrito is a van which appears in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars.

GTA Vice City — GTA Vice City Stories

The Burrito is considered to be the best van in the GTA III Era games, with moderately good speed and acceleration, stable handling and steering, moderate braking and moderate endurance. It has room for four people, two can sit in the rear.

The GTA Vice City, GTA San Andreas and GTA Vice City Stories renditions resemble a 1986-1992 Dodge Ram Van, bearing similarity to the Rumpo in Grand Theft Auto III, which was modified in GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas, but lack side windows. The Burrito from the two earlier games are also available in modified form, with an additional spoiler and roof-mounted lights, while the spoiler and roof-mounted lights of the GTA Vice City Stories Burrito are permanent. When in the modified form, the Burrito bears a strong resemblance to the van used by the A-Team in the 1980s TV show of the same name. The Burrito in GTA Vice City Stories also features two-tone body colors when other rendition feature only one-tone body colors.

GTA IV

The Burrito is reintroduced in GTA IV in a redesigned form, bearing a Declasse brand and resembling a 1996-2002 Chevrolet Express from the front, with a significantly altered grille design; the sides are primarily composed of second generation Chevrolet Vans with some more modern elements of the Express; the rear is also from second generation Chevrolet Vans but the taillights seem Dodge Ram Van-derived (if they simply aren't just from the Chevy Van but moved a little).

The change is also accompanied by degraded performance as it is not as fast as previous renditions, and the GTA IV rendition of the van no longer features sporty accessories. The Burrito appears more like a service van (with a roof rack), with extra weight to withstand damage, but poor acceleration because of its uneven weight. However, the Burrito is the fastest vehicle in the "van" class, reaching a top speed of 151 mph (244 km/h).

The companies depicted on the Burrito include T. Watt and Sons Electricians, Spin on This Laundromat, LIB EL and Pharte Gas. It should be noted a Burrito with "Spin on This Laundromat" labels is still labeled as Burrito when entered, despite the Laundromat being associated with a similar business.

It is worth nothing the frontal design of GTA IV's Burrito is similar to that of GTA IV's Ambulance, which uses the Burrito as the basis for its cab, despite the Ambulance sporting a Brute badge.

Variants

Gang Burrito

The Burrito is adopted as a gang vehicle in both GTA Vice City and The Lost and Damned. Known as the Gang Burrito, the variant features additional modifications, including unique accessories and custom paintjobs. The TLAD Gang Burrito also reintroduces certain sporty accessories omitted during the development of the Burrito in GTA IV.

Yellow Burrito

A special Burrito can be obtained in GTA San Andreas, essentially a Burrito with a yellow paintjob. To obtain it, start the mission "Mike Toreno" and get up to the point where T-bone and Mike start shooting at the van. Their bullets will not damage the van, allowing the player to get a Tow Truck/Tractor. Once the player obtains one, get back to the van and kill T-bone or Mike, failing the mission. Tow the van to the nearest garage and save.

Laundromat

A special model of the Burrito in GTA IV, dubbed the Laundromat, is used by the Laundromat owner who attempts to escape from Niko in Vlad's mission Hung Out to Dry. It seems to be unintended to be driven by the player, but nonetheless, if the player goes around the back of the Laundromat during the mission, it can be stolen and saved at a safehouse. Basically, it is a Burrito with a "Monthly Cycle Laundromat" paintjob, but is not to be confused with a Burrito with "Spin on This Laundromat" labels, which is still labeled as a Burrito when entered.

Locations

GTA Vice City Stories

• Parked next to a row of buildings across InterGlobal Films. Near it is an alley which has a Flamethrower pickup in it.
• Sometimes it can be spawned in the Ocean Beach area.

GTA San Andreas

• Often found in industrial areas, such as Easter Basin, and Ocean Docks.
• Sometimes found near Los Santos International Airport.

GTA IV

• Found parked near the Multistory carpark in Westdyke, Alderney.
• Parked in an alley between Franklin St and Plumbers Skyway, Leftwood, Alderney.

Trivia

• In GTA IV, the default radio station in the Burrito is Liberty City Hardcore.
