Mary Valvona is a character in the HD Universe mentioned in Grand Theft Auto IV. She is the 60-year-old leader of the Pavano Family in 2008.
Mary imigrated to Liberty City in 1958, and two years later at the age of 12 had become addicted to heroin, being arrested for it. She continued her life of crime until she was last arrested for tax evasion in 2005.
She took control of the Pavano Family after her husband's death in 1990. She was suspected of poisoning him but was never charged. She sends many of her men to go to a deal to ambush James Pegorino, who was preparing to give the Pavanos money at an old refinery. Her latest love interest is Mario Venturella, a cat burglar from Algonquin. She was once in a relationship with family consigliere Arthur Zepulla and funded his law degree. She, along with Catalina from Grand Theft Auto III and Auntie Poulet from Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, are the only three female gang leaders in the Grand Theft Auto series.
