Character history
Betsy O'Neil is a Vinewood based actress, described as 'America's sweetheart', who starred as supporting character Penny Lace in the 1952 Arvell Kane film Bullwhip Fury. She later auditioned for a part in The Many Wives of Alfredo Smith although the part went to Leonora Johnson, leading Jeff Campion (of whokilledleonorajohnson.com) to label her a suspect in Leonora's murder, although her name was later cleared when Franklin Clinton discovered that Peter Dreyfuss had killed Leonora. At some point prior to 2013 she was later given a star on the Vinewood Walk of Fame. One classicvinewood.com user, however, suggests that she 'blew her way to more acting roles than Poppy Mitchell'.
